Data We Collect

Photos (Temporarily Processed, Not Stored)

What: Meal photos you capture with the camera
How: Photos are sent to Google Gemini AI for analysis
Storage: Photos are NOT stored on our servers or by Google
Processing: Analyzed in real-time and immediately discarded
Local Copy: A copy remains on your device for your meal history

Important: Photos are sent for analysis but never permanently stored by us or Google.

Local Data (Stored on Your Device Only)

Meal Records: Analysis results, timestamps, and meal history
Preferences: App settings and theme choices

Important: This data NEVER leaves your device. We do not have access to it.

Anonymous Usage Data

Install ID: A random identifier generated on first launch
AI Request Count: Number of analysis requests for rate limiting
Timestamp: When requests are made

Purpose: This anonymous data is used ONLY for:

Enforcing rate limits (10 analyses per day)
Managing AI usage costs
No personal identification possible

Data Shared: Meal photos (temporarily, for analysis only)
Processing: Photos are analyzed and immediately discarded

How We Use Your Data

1. Meal Analysis: - You take a photo → Photo sent to our Supabase server → Forwarded to Google Gemini AI - AI analyzes the photo and returns energy band estimate - Photo is immediately discarded (not stored by us or Google) - Analysis result saved locally on your device

2. Rate Limiting: Anonymous install ID tracks daily usage (10 requests/day limit)

3. App Functionality: Local storage enables meal history and insights

Data Retention

Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app
Server Data: Anonymous usage logs retained for 90 days for monitoring
Photos: Processed in real-time, immediately discarded, NEVER stored on our servers or by Google

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Delete Data: Uninstall the app to remove all local data
Reset ID: Reinstalling generates a new anonymous ID
No Account: No login means no account data to manage

Data Security

Local-First: All personal data stays on your device
Encrypted Transit: API requests use HTTPS encryption
No Tracking: We don't track your behavior or identity
Minimal Collection: We only collect what's necessary for functionality

Children's Privacy

Aperioesca does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and contains no inappropriate content.
